From last night:

Almost done but it needs a few finishing moves, as Jim Herbert would say. This is the hard part because it’s those moves that will make or break the painting.

I could try to be brave and go right in with something but that’s usually low-percentage. Foolhardy, I calls it. It’s usually better to simply turn the painting to the wall and let it go out of your head for a few weeks. It’s much easier to see what a painting needs when you’re a bit removed from it.
