Probably the Last Time I Use this Furshlugginer Reference Photo…

It’s really a pretty bad photograph. It’s just so…accessible. And I’m too cheap/lazy to buy new inks for the printer. We’ve run out of cyan and magenta and the other colors are in their death throes. Everything prints in delicate bands of yellow and green…

Top Cartoonists Condemn Censorship of ‘South Park’

Seventeen big-time cartoonists have signed a petition in response to the less-than-subtle threats against the creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Stone, by the group Revolution Muslim.

the letter states that

“freedom of expression is a universal right” and “we reject any group that seeks to silence people by violence or intimidation.” The letter cites the United States’ “proud tradition of political satire” and affirms belief in the right “to speak or draw freely without censorship.”

Interestingly, the Koran doesn’t expressly prohibit the depiction of Mohammed. And the reason given by Sunni Muslims who do prohibit such depictions is that they might encourage idolatry.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t see people idolizing images of Mohammed in a bear suit or in an ice-cream truck.
